Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr. FLL) is a hands-on program designed to capture young children's curiosity and direct them toward the STEM fields. Jr. FLL features real-world challenges that are explored through research, critical thinking, and creativity. Guided by adult coaches, team members work with LEGO elements and motorized parts to build ideas and concepts and present them for review in front of a panel of judges at their local Jr. FLL event.
During the Jr. FLL season, children will learn many things, including how to conduct research on a certain topic and build a LEGO Model that contains both a simple machine and a motorized parts. After this they will present their research on a “Show Me” poster that includes everything they have learned over the season. Last year's Jr. FLL theme was ThinkTank, in which each team researched the topic of learning.
